The salary of an IPS officer goes from Rs. 56,000 to Rs. 2,25,000, depending upon their position. The salary range given above is without TA, DA, or HRA. The highest salary range is given to the DGP. The order of ranking impacts the salary that an IAS officer receives. Tenure also plays a determining role in salary amount. Generally, an IPS officer’s primary salary is Rs. 56,100. The gross per month can be estimated at around Rs. 64,000. The in-hand that comes finally to the officer ranges around Rs. 54,000.

The government makes some deductions from the salary of the officer. These deductions are made from the end of the central government, NPS contribution, insurance, health services, and tax for the insurance.

The pay band for one month begins with Rs. 56,1000 where grade pay is zero and dearness allowance, or DA, is Rs. 1000. Then comes House Rent Allowance or HRA, which is amounted to around Rs. 4000. Followed by it, Transport allowances are given estimating around Rs. 3000. The complete deduction amount gets around Rs. 10,000 per month.

The additional superintendent of Police, the second higher position, gets Rs. 67,700. Similarly, the superintendent of Police gets Rs. 78,800, and the deputy inspector general of Police gets Rs. 1,31,000.
