The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is a constitutional body in India responsible for recruiting candidates for various civil services positions in the Indian government. Every year, the UPSC conducts the Civil Services Examination (CSE), which is one of the most prestigious and competitive exams in India. The CSE is a three-stage examination that comprises of the Preliminary, Mains, and Interview stages. The Mains examination consists of a written test, which includes nine papers, out of which seven are compulsory and two are optional.
